Christmas opening hours sign maker

Type your business name, usual hours and Christmas and New Year closure dates, then print an A4 sign or save it as a PDF. No sign-up, no watermark, and nothing you type leaves your browser. The dates are pre-filled for 24 December 2026 to 2 January 2027; change anything that doesn't match your business.

Your sign

In the print dialog choose A4, scale 100%, and turn headers and footers off. To make a PDF, pick “Save as PDF” as the printer. If you add many dates the sign may need a second page: remove dates you don't need.

How to use your sign

  1. Check every date against your own plans. The pre-filled closures are only a starting point: 25 December, 28 December and 1 January are the England and Wales bank holidays, but many businesses open or close on other days.
  2. Print it on plain A4. Black ink on white paper reads best from a distance. Put it in a clear plastic wallet if it will be in a window or on a door.
  3. Put it where customers look. On the door at eye height, in the window facing the street, and by the till.
  4. Put it up early. A week or two before your first closure gives regulars time to plan.
  5. Update your online hours too. Add the special hours in your Google Business Profile and change your website, social profiles and any answerphone message, so the sign and the internet agree.

Common questions

Is it free?

Yes. There is no sign-up and no watermark. The sign is made in your browser, so we don't store or see what you type. We only count anonymous tool usage, such as someone pressing print.

What are the bank holidays for Christmas 2026?

In England and Wales: Christmas Day, Friday 25 December 2026; Boxing Day, which falls on a Saturday, has a substitute day on Monday 28 December 2026; New Year's Day, Friday 1 January 2027. Scotland also has Monday 4 January 2027. Northern Ireland has its own list. Source: gov.uk/bank-holidays.

Can I use it for other holidays?

Yes. Choose “Regular opening hours sign” for a year-round sign, or keep the Christmas layout and change the dates and title wording on paper afterwards.

How do I save it as a PDF?

Press the print button, then choose “Save as PDF” (or “Microsoft Print to PDF”) as the printer. On a phone, use the share or print option and pick Save as PDF.
