You give back

  • Your logo if you have one, your photos and your details, within 7 days of being picked.
  • Replies to our messages within 2 working days, and feedback on your draft.
  • Within 14 days of launch: an honest written review, 3 to 6 sentences, and a 30 to 60 second video on your phone about how it went.
  • Permission for us to show your website, business name, review and video on millwards.shop and our social media, labelled as part of this programme.

After the first month: keep your website live for £39 a month and cancel any time. If you’d rather not, we take it offline and you pay nothing.

Is it really free?

Yes. The build and the first month of hosting and care cost nothing, and we never ask for card details to apply.

What’s the catch?

There are two. You give us an honest review and a short video once your site is live. And after the first month, it’s £39 a month if you want to keep it.

What happens after the first month?

You choose. Keep it live for £39 a month and cancel any time, or let it go and we take it offline. You won’t be charged unless you ask to keep it.

Why is my site on a millwards.shop address?

Programme sites live at yourbusiness.millwards.shop, so there’s no domain name to buy. If you keep your site after the first month, ask us about moving it to your own domain.

Do I have to say good things?

No. We ask for an honest review of how it went, good or bad. If something isn’t right while we’re building, tell us so we can fix it.

What if I don’t like the design?

You’ll see a draft before anything goes live, and you tell us what to change.

How long does it take?

We aim to have your site live within 3 weeks of getting your photos and details.

Can I apply if I’m just starting out?

Yes. Tell us what you’re launching and when. Businesses that are already trading are more likely to be picked.

What if I’m not picked?

We’ll let you know either way. If you’d still like a website, our fixed-price packages start with Launch.

Will you need my passwords or bank details?

No. We never ask for passwords or bank details to apply.

Programme terms

  1. There are 5 places. We choose who takes part, and there is no cash alternative.
  2. The free build is a one-page Launch website. Online shops, booking systems, payments and extra pages are not included.
  3. Hosting and care are free for the first month after launch. After that, it’s £39 a month if you want to keep your site, and you can cancel any time. If you don’t renew, we take the site offline.
  4. Your site uses a millwards.shop address, such as yourbusiness.millwards.shop.
  5. You keep the rights to your words, photos and logo, and you confirm you’re allowed to use everything you send us.
  6. Your review must be honest and your own. We may shorten it but won’t change its meaning, and we’ll label it as given in return for a free website.
  7. If you don’t send your content within 30 days of being picked, we may offer your place to someone else.
  8. Our website terms apply to anything not covered here.
