Website & service terms

These terms explain the general basis on which Millwards Digital presents and provides its small-business website services.

Clear package terms

You can choose a listed package and optional add-ons through secure checkout or ask for a tailored quote. Before paying, you will answer a short project brief and see what is due today, every recurring monthly amount and, when you select a new domain, its current annual renewal estimate. For a listed package, its description, checkout summary and these terms form the agreement. Your brief guides the first concept but does not add work beyond the package scope. Any later written term specifically agreed by both parties takes priority if it differs. Bespoke work begins only after you accept a written quote or project agreement.

Millwards Digital’s legal name, business address, support contact and VAT status are published on the legal business details page. The listed online checkout is only for an order made wholly or mainly for a trade, business, craft or profession; it is not offered for a personal purchase. Contact support@millwards.shop instead if that does not describe your order.

1. The service

Millwards Digital designs and builds websites and may provide related services such as managed hosting, maintenance, backups, content changes, domain support, managed business email and third-party integrations. A listed package or add-on includes only the items described for it on the website and at checkout. Bespoke work includes only the items expressly listed in the accepted quote or project agreement.

2. Prices and payment

The fixed listed-package prices are in pounds sterling: Launch is £249 setup plus £39 per month, Business is £599 setup plus £69 per month, and Growth is £1,099 setup plus £99 per month. Optional add-ons are £99 once for each additional website page, £79 once for each additional consolidated design-revision round, and £4.99 per month for each managed business email mailbox. These are the final advertised prices for the stated scope. VAT is charged only when Millwards Digital is VAT-registered or otherwise required to account for it; any VAT lawfully chargeable is included in the displayed total and identified before payment. If no VAT is charged, no VAT invoice is issued. Stripe’s secure payment form charges the setup fee, first month of care, one-time add-ons and the first month of any email add-on together when you order. If you select a new domain, its verified first-year registration price is added as a separate one-time item and included in the total due today. A domain you already own adds no registration charge. Care and selected email mailboxes then renew monthly until cancelled. Quantities, any tax treatment, the full amount due today and every recurring amount are shown before you confirm payment.

Stripe securely processes the payment; Millwards Digital does not receive your full card details. You authorise Stripe to charge the payment method selected at checkout for the initial amount, each monthly care renewal and each selected monthly email-mailbox renewal. If you select a new domain, you also authorise a separate annual Stripe charge at the registrar’s confirmed renewal price. The annual amount shown in a Millwards Digital renewal notice or approval is the total Stripe price, inclusive of any tax lawfully chargeable at that time. Millwards Digital gives at least 30 calendar days’ notice of the amount and charge date. A year-on-year increase of no more than 20% of the last annual amount you explicitly accepted or successfully paid may be applied after that notice; a larger increase, a zero-to-positive increase, a currency or billing-period change, or an increase without the full notice period requires your fresh approval. A decrease may be applied automatically. The domain’s availability and catalogue price are checked again before Stripe opens; if either has changed, you must review a fresh result before paying. If a payment fails or needs your approval, Millwards Digital will give you a reasonable opportunity to resolve it, although affected work or ongoing service may be paused until payment is confirmed. After Stripe confirms payment, Millwards Digital emails an order confirmation to the project contact.

Online ordering is in English: choose a package, complete the brief, review and correct the summary, accept these terms, then pay through Stripe. A contract forms when Stripe confirms successful payment. Millwards Digital stores the order and accepted terms version, sends confirmation promptly by email, and keeps these terms available so they can be saved or printed.

Bespoke work remains quote-based. Its accepted quote confirms the final fee, recurring charge, payment schedule, tax position if applicable, and any domain, licence or third-party costs. Work outside any listed or agreed scope will be quoted or approved before it is carried out.

3. What you provide

Millwards Digital prepares the initial website wording and image direction from your project brief. You are responsible for providing accurate contact information, business facts, prices, policies and regulated statements, giving timely feedback, and holding the rights to anything you upload, supply or ask to be used. Uploaded logo files are treated as project materials; an editing note records the requested direction but does not add a separate brand-design project unless that work is expressly included or agreed. Brief answers are used as creative and planning direction; Millwards Digital will still ask before relying on unclear information or making a material decision outside the agreed package.

4. Reviews and launch

The project process and included review rounds are set out in the listed package, later written project brief or bespoke quote. Nothing will be published as the approved final website until you have had the opportunity to review it. Delays in receiving feedback, required business facts, specialist material, decisions or third-party access may move the expected launch date.

5. Ownership and licences

You keep ownership of material you provide. Once the applicable build fees are paid, you may use the final bespoke website deliverables created specifically for your business. Pre-existing tools, reusable code, working methods, open-source software and third-party assets remain owned by their respective owners and are used under their applicable licences.

6. Domain registration, renewal and third-party services

Domains, email, payment providers, search engines, social platforms and other integrations are third-party services. Their own terms, prices, outages and decisions can affect the service. The domain picker requests current availability and catalogue pricing from the provider. The first-year amount shown in Millwards Digital’s checkout is the final customer registration price and already accounts for any applicable provider registry or ICANN fee and the provider’s tax cost, even if the provider presents its underlying catalogue price differently. Those supplier costs form part of the advertised domain-service price and are not presented as VAT charged by Millwards Digital. Selecting and paying for a new domain adds that shown amount to the order, but a search does not reserve the name and registration is not complete until the registrar accepts the purchase.

Promotional eligibility, registration length, tax, premium-domain status and final registrar acceptance can depend on the name, account and provider terms. Availability and price are checked again before payment. If the selected name becomes unavailable after payment but before registration completes, Millwards Digital will offer a comparable available alternative or refund the separate domain line item.

For a new-domain order, the domain step asks whether the legal registrant is an individual or an organisation and collects the authorised contact’s given name, family name, telephone number and county, state or region, plus the exact legal organisation name where applicable. By selecting the checkout’s single Domain Registration & Renewal Terms checkbox, you confirm that you are authorised to register the selected domain for that registrant. You also authorise Millwards Digital to combine those details with the project contact email and the billing address collected securely by Stripe, solely to create the registration contact and share it with the registrar. Stripe does not ask you to repeat the domain-owner fields and Millwards Digital does not use a telephone number as the normal project contact preference. Registration is fulfilled through Hostinger and the same agreement includes acceptance of the current Hostinger Domain Name Registration Agreement. Privacy protection is requested where the registrar and suffix support it. Some suffixes, identity checks or registry rules may require further information or customer action before registration can complete.

The same checkbox authorises Millwards Digital to enable registrar auto-renew and arrange a separate annual Stripe charge for managed domain renewal under the price, notice, approval and cancellation safeguards in sections 2 and 8. It does not authorise an undisclosed price increase: you receive at least 30 days’ notice, and any increase that exceeds the stated 20% limit or otherwise falls outside those safeguards requires fresh approval before Stripe is increased.

After Stripe confirms payment, Millwards Digital rechecks the selected domain and submits the registration to Hostinger using the owner details supplied at checkout. New domains are managed through Millwards Digital’s private registrar account: the customer remains the legal registrant but is not given access to that account, and no Hostinger login is created or supplied. Registrar auto-renew is enabled and a separate annual Stripe billing schedule is created at no more than the renewal estimate accepted at checkout. If the registrar price changes, the notice and approval rules above apply before the Stripe amount changes. Stripe handles the annual payment and the registrar renews the domain; Millwards Digital manages both while the managed-domain service remains active. Millwards Digital provides this managed service but is not itself an ICANN-accredited registrar.

The annual domain price is the registrar’s confirmed renewal cost, including applicable provider registry or ICANN fees and the provider’s tax cost, passed through in pounds sterling unless a different fee is clearly shown and accepted. Before each increase, Millwards Digital compares the new amount with the last amount you accepted or successfully paid and applies the 20% and 30-day safeguards in section 2. If fresh approval is required and is not given, Millwards Digital will not increase the Stripe charge automatically and will contact you about cancellation, transfer or another renewal arrangement. Registrar prices, provider fees and applicable supplier taxes can change independently of Millwards Digital.

If you use a domain you already own, it remains registered to you and you remain responsible for its renewal with its current provider unless a different managed-domain service is expressly agreed. You authorise Millwards Digital to carry out the limited connection route selected at checkout: requesting revocable provider access where supported, or preparing the specific DNS change needed to connect the finished website. You must approve any provider invitation or guided change required from the domain owner’s account. Millwards Digital will never ask for or store your registrar password, payment details, recovery codes or two-factor authentication codes.

Existing-domain changes are made only when needed for delivery and normally after the replacement website is ready. Millwards Digital will take reasonable care to identify and preserve existing email and unrelated DNS services; you must answer the checkout’s existing-email question accurately and tell support about any less obvious service that depends on the domain. Nameserver changes will not be used blindly where they could interrupt existing email. You may revoke delegated access, although doing so can prevent later domain or DNS maintenance included in an ongoing service.

Business includes one standard booking or simple payment integration where selected in the brief, such as taking an appointment, deposit or invoice payment through a compatible provider. Growth is required for a full online shop, customer or member portal, larger catalogue, or another complex workflow or integration. These remain within the chosen package’s page and content scope; provider transaction fees, paid licences, data entry, unusually large catalogues and custom operational systems are separate unless expressly shown as included.

7. Optional add-ons

An additional-page add-on adds one core website page beyond the allowance of the selected package. An additional-revision add-on adds one consolidated review round to the first website-design process. An add-on extends only that stated allowance; it does not move the order into a higher package or include functionality that the selected package cannot support.

A managed business email add-on provides the number of mailboxes selected at checkout on your chosen or existing domain. Each mailbox is hosted through Hostinger and set up by Millwards Digital after the domain is active and ownership or DNS access is confirmed. You provide the mailbox names, and we send the access or setup details securely. The add-on does not include email migration, bulk marketing, archiving, regulated-industry configuration or unlimited storage unless separately agreed.

8. Recurring services and cancellation

Monthly care and each managed business email mailbox renew automatically each month until cancelled. Managed domain billing renews separately each year from the confirmed registrar renewal date. To cancel a recurring service, email support@millwards.shop before its next billing date and say which service you want to end. The annual notice states the practical domain cut-off; it will be no later than seven calendar days before the planned Stripe charge unless the registrar imposes an earlier deadline that is clearly stated. Cancelling one service does not automatically cancel another. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless another date is agreed, and there is no separate cancellation fee. Cancelling care does not cancel or refund website setup work already supplied or in progress; cancelling an email mailbox ends access at the end of its paid period, so the customer must export anything they need first. Any refund rights that apply by law are unaffected.

If you ask to cancel the website build before work or an authorised third-party purchase begins, Millwards Digital will refund amounts not yet earned or committed. Once work or an authorised purchase begins, Millwards Digital will explain any amount retained for work completed or costs already committed.

If managed domain billing is cancelled, Millwards Digital will explain the available transfer or renewal arrangements before registrar auto-renew is disabled, but the customer is responsible for completing any agreed transfer or alternative renewal in time to avoid expiry. When website care ends and agreed amounts are paid, Millwards Digital will reasonably assist with the transfer of customer-owned content and transferable services. Ongoing hosting, maintenance and support stop when the paid care period ends.

9. Search results and business outcomes

Websites are built with sensible technical and content foundations, but Millwards Digital does not guarantee a search position, traffic level, number of enquiries, sales figure or other business result. Those outcomes depend on many factors outside any website provider’s control.

10. Availability and responsibility

Reasonable care and skill will be used in providing the agreed service. Internet services can still be affected by maintenance, security incidents, third-party outages and events outside reasonable control. Neither party excludes responsibility where the law does not allow it to be excluded. Any project-specific limits or remedies will be set out in the written agreement.

11. Contact and concerns

If something is unclear, you need help with billing or you have a concern about the service, email support@millwards.shop. You will receive a clear response and a fair opportunity to resolve the issue.
